Everyone has their own reason for walking. Most of the time its because someone close to them has fought a battle with breast cancer. And of course, like most of you, I know someone who has been touched by this disease. There is the mother of a friend, the sweet woman at church, the beautiful lady at work who always makes me laugh… those brave faces are reason enough! However, I am choosing to dedicate my first Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure to my daughters, Lexie and Hadlie.

My daughters are just little girls. When this walk takes place they will be 7 years old and 14 months old. And they are my world! The thought that one day down the road they could face breast cancer is a terrifying thought for me.

So on November 5, 2010 I will begin my first 3-day walk. I will be walking for all those I’ve known along the way who have fought the fight against breast cancer… some who have won their battle and some who have not. And most importantly, I will be walking for Lexie and Hadlie. I will be walking so that by the Grace of God this is a disease that never effects their life in any way… so that my precious girls will never need to walk for a cure!
